Customer Feedback Comments for ESD Cal Poly Seminar 1 May 2008:
"
Bob's anecdotes and "war stories" add a nice practical
aspect to the discussion. The live demonstrations in addition to
the real-world examples further enhances the practical application
nature of the seminar content."
" Strong Hands On Approach to ESD Effects, Methods to counter ESD
effects and good interaction with Attendee's questions. Learning
from similar experiences of others is helpful."
" Lots of exposure to new test equipment and how it is used."
" Was very informative and easy to understand."
" I think it made you realize how much you don't know about ESD?"
" It was a very good overview of ESD testing. I like that Bob doesn't
go into the effects of ESD, but sticks with what we should test.
I can return to work with a new list of things to look for and
test."
" Very detailed and informative. Good examples of experiments. Liked
the meters, test equipment and pictures of such."
" Details and demos - Info all great."
" Much more than I had hoped for. Loved all the test equipment."
" Good and useful information presented - the mixing of practical
demonstrations throughout the presentation helped with the transfer
of knowledge."
" There were plenty of demonstrations and practical applications.
The atmosphere was interactive and conducive to learning."
" I have and will continue to recommend this seminar as one of the
best ESD packaging learning experiences!"

seen.
Please could you forward the HP Report

Dear Bob,
Thanks for explaining a lot regarding ESD
to us during the training held in
Johor Bahru. While I had gone to some ESD training prior to this one
(organized by HP), I have to admit that I learnt much much more from what
you presented to us, and there are a lot of interesting points as well to
pick up and remember :)
By the way, just to make sure that I can
refer to the material presented
from time to time to refresh my memory, is there any way you can email me a
soft copy of the slides? That would be really helpful to me.
Thanks :)

Hello Bob,
How are you doing? I supposed your recent trip into West Malaysia , Penang
and Johor was enriching one for both you and Renee.
It was my privilege to attend your ESD Tutorial in Johor last Friday. Your
sharing of knowledge and experience had further enhanced my understanding.
God bless your family,

Bob, I just spoke with Renee and gave her
a lead to our plant in Rapid City .
As a follow up to the seminar I wanted
to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed the seminar. Your use of
examples and demonstrations really help to drive the salient points
home for the attendees.
The coins in the bag are really powerful,
because most people would not believe that the metal coins could
help to generate a charge.
I have a question that I thought of after
the seminar. If an ungrounded individual puts their hand into an
ESD bag and then picks up a PCA with the outside surface of the
bag making contact with the board, is the
board in danger? I suspect it is because the bag being still open does not
become a Faraday Cage.
It might work if the bag was large enough
for the individual to get into, then seal the bag and then grab
the board from inside the bag. That's a big bag.
I thought a good demo for this would be
to put your hand into a bag and then grad your antenna to see/hear
the results.
Let me know your thoughts on the matter.
Again, thanks for the seminar and I look
forward to meeting you again sometime soon.

Hi Renee,
…I wanted to say that Bob did a great job on his talk. I knew much of the
material he talked about but Bob presented in a way that kept my interest. It
was obvious that Bob did a lot of work and it showed. Good Job!
Thanks!
