NASA ESD Program Managers trained by RMV Subject Matter Experts

Since 2014, RMV Technology Group LLC, a NASA Industry partner, has trained the NASA ESD Program Managers in the field of electrostatics to include Suspect Counterfeit Detection, Class 0 (C, A, & B) Safeguards, CubeSat Material Integrity, revised NASA Standards, Risk Identification for ESD Failures, Characterization and Compliance Verification of electronic products utilized in the assembly, manufacture, handling and storage of sensitive devices, plus more. Starting this year, some NASA and DoD contractors attended the class for the first time.

Kickoff for the NASA Program Manager and Engineer Training was led by the Engineering Directorate in combination with Office of Safety & Mission Assurance.

Invited Speakers included UC Berkeley and Langley Research Center in combination with Special topics on Risk Management and Spacecraft Integration, In-house Instrument Design & Fabrication and ESD Risk in the Supply Chain and an interesting talk on Bayes Inference.

At the close of the 4-1/2 day intense training session, Bob Vermillion, ESD Technical Authority for NASA, was presented with the scholarship award for ESD Technical Leadership by the IAWG - ESD Committee Chair from Langley Research Center.
