A Wonderful Visit from Julie Clowes, NEW San Francisco SBA Director

December 7, 2017

MOFFETT FIELD, CALIFORNIA. Recently appointed as the new SBA Director of the San Francisco District Office, Julie Clowes made her first stop to NASA Ames Research Center for a visit with Bob Vermillion, CEO, and Renee Mitchell, President, RMV Technology Group LLC, a NASA Industry Partner on 7th December 2017.

Julie Clowes, an attorney with broad experience in SBA programs, will oversee the delivery of entrepreneur services in the San Francisco District’s 14 county Bay Area region.

Scheduled to come for one hour, Julie stayed over two! We were absolutely thrilled to demonstrate the unique capabilities that RMV Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provide to federal agencies from NASA to the DoD and commercial customers from consumer electronics to the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors.

Especially interesting for Julie was the very unique engineering and testing services that RMV provides from Advanced Electrostatic (ESD) & Suspect Counterfeit Training for NASA ESD Program Managers to a disruptively new reliability solution for CubeSat (small satellites) Integrity before Flight.

A short demonstration of the "Cordless Wriststrap" was briefed with real time ESD events as they occur to clearly illustrate how this "suspect counterfeit" consumable performed under test and in the field. Most recently, a NASA GIDEP Advisory was published with RMV, Langley Research Center (LaRC) and Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) collaborative efforts.

RMV testing and evaluation of advanced composites for spacebound vehicles to specialized testing of flooring systems for space platforms and "Google" size server operations was also demonstrated. All in all, a most unique visit to RMV points to the "Supply Chain" as the ultimate benefactor in improved reliability, functionality and lowering costs for the American consumer and taxpayer by adhering to Industry proven protocols for supplier compliance.

In a visit to Washington, D.C. on October 24th, Bob Vermillion and Renee Mitchell met with Jerry Godwin, US SBA Veterans Business Development, in which Adarsh Deepak, CEO, Science & Technology Corporation (RMV Mentor), Hampton, Virginia, was introduced to the SBA Veteran team leading the All Small Mentor Protege Program (ASMPP) agreement for SDVOSB participation.
