Bob Vermillion, ESD Technical Authority for NASA, gave a very interesting talk on the "Successful Deployment of CubeSats" before a large number of participants that included NASA civil servants, support contractors and suppliers from all over the USA. Bob's talk focused on the need for traceable electrostatic 3rd party verification of materials, composites and components before deployment into a harsh environment. Class A through D for ESD Control was also discussed with regard to risk for each level of CubeSat design and development for projects and programs at NASA.

Talks throughout the 2-day period ranged from Product Integrity and Additive Manufacturing to Cyber Security for Physical Systems, Lessons Learned and Risks to Principles for Spaceflight Success.

Bob is also a member of the Expert Advisory Board for the NASA/Auburn University Academy of Aerospace Quality that conducts annual educational forums on quality assurance for academic space projects and payloads for cubesats, small sats, rockets and high altitude balloons.
